Multi-day bike touring format
Self-guided multi-day bike tours: bike rented in city, route given, hotels along route booked separately, luggage transferred between hotels by van. Days 30–60km. Cost €100–250/day all-inclusive (bike + hotels + breakfasts + transfer). Cities below have established operators and infrastructure.
Munich — Romantic Road
Munich south to Füssen via Würzburg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Augsburg. 350km, 7 days. Bavarian villages + castles + Alps. Operators: Eurobike, Pomeroy. €700–1,100 7-day package.
Vienna — Danube Path
Vienna Vienna to Passau (Bavaria) along Donauradweg — 320km, 7 days. Riverside flat, easy. Vineyards (Wachau Valley) + monasteries + medieval villages. €600–950.
Bordeaux — Atlantic Coast
Bordeaux south to Spanish border via Vélodyssée Atlantic Coast Route. 400km, 7-10 days. Beach + Médoc vineyards + Basque coast. €700–1,200.
Amsterdam — Dutch network
Amsterdam dense national network. Self-guided routes via NL Cycling Network. Amsterdam to Bruges via The Hague, Antwerp typical 5-day. €600–900.
Berlin — Berlin to Copenhagen
Berlin to Copenhagen via Rostock + Gedser ferry. EuroVelo 7. 620km, 8-10 days. Mostly flat, well-marked.
Bologna — Po Delta and Tuscany
Bologna base for Po Delta cycling and Apennine routes. Less famous than France/Germany routes but rapidly developing.
Krakow — Polish-Slovak Carpathian
Polish East-European cycling. Cheaper, less developed, more adventurous. Nowy Sącz, Banská Bystrica routes.
Strategy
