Two categories of view-dining
Set-piece view restaurants (you book primarily for the view, food average) vs serious-food-with-good-view (food is the point, view enhances). Below mostly the second — places where view + food both deliver.
Lisbon
Lisbon Topo Chiado (rooftop, Baixa view), Sky Bar at Tivoli, Rio Maravilha at LX Factory, Hotel Mundial rooftop. Hilltop miradouros (Senhora do Monte, São Pedro de Alcântara) have casual food kiosks with sunset views. Chiado base.
Santorini
Caldera-edge restaurants: Selene (Pyrgos, fine dining + view), Lauda (Andronis, sunset spectacular). Reservations 2–3 months ahead summer. Sunset hour bookings carry premium.
Paris
Paris Le Jules Verne (inside Eiffel Tower, 125m up — Frédéric Anton menu €130–250 lunch, €350+ dinner). Maison Blanche (Avenue Montaigne rooftop). Le Train Bleu at Gare de Lyon (no view but extraordinary Belle Époque interior).
Barcelona
Barcelona Restaurant Martínez (Montjuïc, panoramic city view), El Mirador del Llobregat. Tibidabo Funicular has rooftop restaurants at top with city panorama. Hotel Casa Camper rooftop. Eixample rooftops.
Athens
Athens Acropolis-view rooftops are the genre. Dionysos Zonars (literally faces Acropolis), GB Roof Garden (Hotel Grande Bretagne, Syntagma), Symposio Plaka. Sunset Acropolis-illuminated views €60–90 per person.
Florence
Florence La Loggia at Piazzale Michelangelo (panoramic Florence skyline), B-Roof at Hotel Baglioni. Skip mid-day; go for sunset.
Strategy
Reserve sunset slot 4–8 weeks ahead. Confirm view-table specifically (some "rooftop" restaurants have indoor-only tables with same menu). Wind/cold seasons indoor-with-window often better than terrace.
