Major photography programs (MA/MFA, 1–3 years, €15,000–60,000+) and short workshop programs (1–8 weeks, €500–4,000). Cities below host both. The big-name schools below offer broad photographic education + alumni networks.

Berlin

Berlin Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie — 4-year photo academy founded by photographer cooperative. Plus Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK) photo MA. Affordable city, English-friendly. €5,000–15,000 annual.

Paris

Paris Spéos (English-taught photo school), Gobelins, École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (Arles). Spéos has Paris + London branches; €18,000–28,000 1-year programs.

London

London Royal College of Art, Central Saint Martins (UAL), London College of Communication. World-class. £25,000–60,000 MA programs. Plus shorter programs at Photoschool, Steve McCurry Workshops.

Arles (France)

École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d'Arles — French national photography school. Plus Rencontres d'Arles annual festival (July–September) draws international talent. Day-trip from Avignon or Marseille.

Helsinki

Helsinki Aalto University photo MA (the famed Helsinki School pedigree — Pentti Sammallahti, Esko Männikkö). Strong landscape and conceptual photography tradition.

Lausanne (ECAL)

Swiss École cantonale d'art de Lausanne — design + photography. Highly competitive. Multilingual programming.

Stockholm

Stockholm Konstfack, plus Nordic Light Festival photography sessions. Strong Nordic landscape photography.

Strategy
