Geneva is not really cheaper
Common myth: buy a Rolex in Switzerland and save 20%. Reality: Swiss prices match international list prices precisely. The reason to shop in Switzerland is access (allocation lists for hot models more accessible) and authenticity.
Geneva
Patek Philippe boutique on Rue du Rhône, Vacheron Constantin, Rolex, Audemars Piguet. Watches & Wonders fair every April. Boutique appointments often required for purchases. Quartier des Bains for vintage.
Lucerne
Bucherer flagship — multi-brand authorized dealer (Patek, Rolex, AP). Bahnhofstrasse and Schwanenplatz zone. Smaller and more relaxed than Geneva for browsing.
Vienna
Vienna Wempe at Kohlmarkt. A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte boutiques. Vienna's old-money clientele means strong vintage and pre-owned market. Less queuing than Switzerland.
London
London Bond Street is the global second tier — Patek, Rolex, AP, Cartier all present. Bonhams and Sotheby's auction houses for rare vintage. Watches of Switzerland boutiques across the city. Mayfair base.
Milan
Milan Pisa Orologeria (multi-brand), Rolex flagship at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Italian collectors particularly into vintage Patek and Rolex; small boutiques in Brera for trade-ins.
Vintage specialists
Berlin (Wempe, Vintage Watches), Munich (multiple), Paris (Antiquorum, vintage shops in Le Marais). Vintage market less authorized-dealer-driven and more about specialist trust.
Strategy
Buy from authorized dealers only — grey market savings vanish if warranty issues arise. Allocation waitlists for hot Rolexes and Patek can be 2–6 years; build relationships with one dealer rather than churning.
