Where to Stay in Geneva: Neighborhood Guide by Trip Type
Geneva's Eaux-Vives (left bank, near the lake) and Pâquis (right bank, near the train station) are the two stays. Pâquis is rougher around the edges and cheaper. Eaux-Vives is the polished version.

The Geneva neighborhoods worth considering
Just south of central Geneva across the Arve — Italianate quarter built by Sardinians, dense restaurants, the calmer alternative.
The left-bank residential district along the lake — leafy, polished, walking distance to the Jet d'Eau and the old town.
The right-bank neighborhood just north of the train station — the multi-ethnic food district, edgier and dramatically cheaper than Eaux-Vives.
